IISc Dramatics Club (also known as Rangmanch) was formed in the year 2009. It has showcased numerous performances till date, which includes full length classic plays to mimes to plays written by members themselves. Rangmanch has also been performing for the fresher’s orientation programme annually, along with performances on the newly introduced Gymkhana event Spectrum in 2013.
Activities:- Full length plays, One act plays, Street plays.
Rangmanch has performed many well known plays including ‘God’ by Woody Allen, ‘Dakghar’ by Tagore, ‘Charandas Chor’ by Habib Tanvir, 'Silence! The court is in session" by Vijay Tendulkar, and has also adapted plays from the stories of Premchand, Chekhov, Gorky amongst others.
The dramatics club maintains and updates an inventory of props in the room provided by Gymkhana at the Students Amenities Center, and uses them in an innovative fashion in all its performances to depict a large variety of scenes.
